Job: Data Modeler

Location: Edinburgh/London

Duration: 6- 12 months ( Freelance)

Rate: 400 GBP/Day ( Inside IR35)

You’ll be principally working as a part of the Data and Analytics Platform Scrum team and playing a key role in the development and ongoing feature releases of a cloud based Data & Analytics Platform, as well as the wider provision of data architecture & data engineering services across RBSI. Data modeller/architect designs, implements, and documents data architecture and data modelling solutions, which include the use of relational, dimensional, and NoSQL databases. These solutions support overall enterprise information management, business intelligence, machine learning, data science, and other business interests.

What you’ll do:

• Designs, implements, and documents data architecture and data modelling solutions (Logical and Physical Data Model with data mapping)
• Analyse and adopt bank-wide data strategies and developing logical and physical data models.
• Analysing and translating business needs into long-term solution data models.
• Evaluating existing data systems.
• Participate in agile ceremonies (Stand Ups, Sprint Planning, Retrospectives etc).

The skills you’ll need:

• Experience with data lake, (cloud) data warehouse (e.g. Snowflake) and enterprise big data platforms
• Expertise in data modelling principles/methods including conceptual, logical & physical Data Models
• Good knowledge of metadata management, data modelling, and related tools (Erwin or ER Studio or others) required
• Comfortable with different modelling methodologies – 3NF, Dimensional and Data Vault
